Hey James! Thank you for sending these positive vibes! I had some great conversations all three days and felt like people got a lot from the Q&As. Climbers came from Norman AND Stillwater for the trash pickup, just like last year's event—it just amazes me and makes me so happy.

The students at Chandler on Friday were my youngest audience yet, so I felt unsure how to talk with them about these topics or whether I'd be able to hold their attention. They ended up being one of the most fun and engaged groups I have gotten to speak with. We managed to travel all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, Antarctica and the Pacific Northwest in our discussion. They easily grasped the global importance of how we relate to the Arkansas River.

Thanks again for your message.

Glad it was a hit with the youth.

We do some conservation education with the youth up here in Washington and Nowata Counties.

Have you ever heard of the Blue Thumb Project sponsored by the Oklahoma Conservation Commission? It is a group of volunteers who monitor water quality in creeks across the state. You can be a volunteer or promote the program through your writing.

Thanks for sharing this here. Being made aware and reminded of really anything like this helps me and other readers, too. Someone from Blue Thumb actually came to my Saturday talk at Chandler, and a geochemist who has worked with them has spoken with me several times for some articles to come later in the series.
